What is Psilocybin? Psilocybin is an active compound found in Psilocybin Mushrooms Psilocybin is quickly converted by the body to psilocin, which has mindaltering effects similar, in some aspects, to those of LSD, mescaline, and DMT. In general, the effects include euphoria, visual and mental hallucinations, changes in perception, a distorted sense of time, spiritual experiences, and can include possible adverse reactions such as nausea and panic attacks.
What Is DMT? DMT is a functional analog and structural analog of other psychedelic tryptamines such as O-Acetylpsilocin (4-AcO-DMT), 5-MeO-DMT, bufotenin (5-HO-DMT), psilocybin (4-PO-DMT), and psilocin (4-HODMT). The structure of DMT occurs within some important biomolecules like serotonin and melatonin, making them structural analogs of DMT.
What Is Acupuncture? In TCM Terms and health is the free flow of qi and blood and the balance of yin and yang. Qi is the life force that moves the Blood. In TCM terms Blood is interchangeable with all, but not limited to body fluids, hormones, neurotransmitters. We can interpret that Serotonin and Dopamine are Yin and Yang respectively. Acupuncture applied with TCM foundations and philosophies can encourage the free flow of Qi and Blood and re-calibrate the relationship between yin and yang.
How does Psilocybin and DMT work? Psilocybin in the body converts to psilocin, a serotonergic psychedelic substance. This helps to activate the serotonin pathways in the body, focused on the central nervous system and the brain. It helps to encourage the natural unlocking of shame and guilt. DMT is introduced once the layers of blockages are revealed to encourage necessary breakthroughs of old inhibitory patterns in all degrees. Healing Therapy Program with Psilosybin and DMT (optional)
Is it safe? Psylosybin and DMT are not addictive. They do not lead to drug seeking behaviors and has no withdrawal symptoms. Therapeutically it is only taken during the medicine session so there is no possibility of becoming chemically reliant on it.
Possible side effects - increased energy/alertness, increased music appreciation, decreased need for sleep, increased sociability, mood lift, increased communicativeness, decreased appetite, jaw tension. There have been the occasional reports of people feeling anxious while under the effects of Psilosybin and DMT. The medicines themselves are not known to cause anxiety and it has been surmised that the anxiety is the result of previously hidden or contained trauma coming to the surface.
The unveiling of previously suppressed or buried trauma energy, feelings and memories is an important possibility to be aware of before embarking on a healing journey with these substances. If you do not have the resources or support needed, or do not feel prepared to open up and see suppressed traumatic content, then it would be wise to gather more support and resources first. Once excavated, it is possible that the “un-encapsulated trauma” can cause symptoms beyond the session; sometimes it can be difficult to re contain what was opened up, creating the need for more therapy to resolve underlying layers. Although extremely rare, there is a very small possibility that one will have a profound awakening experience during the medicine journey.
The awakening experience is usually characterized by a loss of ego and recognition that one is not who/what they thought they were. If the awakening experience is deep and profound it can leave a person with a loss or partial loss of their former personality. This experience can sometimes take a few months to integrate, as the loss of personality can feel destabilizing and unusual. For people who are spiritually inclined this loss of ego or personality is often the goal of spiritual practice.
There are some negative reports online about Psilocybin and DMT, mostly written by people who have insufflated (snorted) or injected over 10 times the recommended dose. This substance works remarkably well when ingested orally (psilocybin) and inhaled (DMT).
The Therapy Package The healing protocol that We have found has the best outcomes is modelled after the protocol that the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Science (MAPS) utilizes in their MDMA studies. The first sessions are often 1 hour long and are most often done the week before the medicine session. (Note: if you are new to therapy, are working with complex trauma, or have not previously worked with the therapists, one or both, it is recommended that you work with the therapists for some time before embarking on the medicine protocol).
What to expect? “My thoughts quieted down” “I was much more able to feel my body and was able to stay present with the uncomfortable and painful sensations that would normally send me reaching for pain meds and alcohol” “I felt more connected to my higher self and my inner healer just kept showing the next thing that I needed to see.” “It reduced my shame so that I was able to share events from my life that I had never revealed to anyone ever before in my life. What a relief to finally not have to hold all of that by myself!” Each session will combine and integrate relational somatic therapy, contemplative therapy, psycho-somatic therapy, acupuncture therapy, sound therapy, mind-body awareness, and mindfulness. Healing Therapy Program with Psilosybin and DMT (optional)
The Therapy Package Continued The medicine session is 6 hours long. It is essential to clear your schedule for the whole day so that you have integration time after the session. The medicine session is ideally followed by a 1 integration session within 48 hours. 2 phone integration sessions are scheduled for the week following the all day session.
Recommendations It is strongly recommended to have a support person lined up for after the 6-hour session. Ideally, this is a person who is a competent support person, who can pick you up after the session. Their main role is to support and nurture you so that you can have some time and space to integrate the experience.
